How To Read RSS Feeds

All you have to do is copy the link from an RSS icon and paste it into your RSS Reader program. The RSS Reader program will periodically download the RSS feed and will display the new headlines much like your email program will display your subject lines. If you like one of the headlines, you can click on it and it will display a short description and a link to the entire article. If you want to read more, click the link and it will display the actual full article on the website.

Reading RSS Feeds in the Mozilla Thunderbird email client

Right-click on the icon.
Select Copy Shortcut (or Copy Link Location, depending on your browser).
Start Mozilla Thunderbird.
Click on Tools, then Account Settings...
On the Account Settings dialog, choose Add Account.
On the Account Wizard, choose RSS News and Blogs and then click Next.
Enter Bionic Tonic News as the name for your account, then click Next
Click Finish. Your new account should appear in the list of folders.
Click OK to dismiss the Account Settings dialog.
Right-click on it and then choose Manage Subscriptions.
On the RSS Subcriptions dialog, click Add.
On the Feed Properties dialog, paste the URL (Steps 1 & 2) into Feed URL.
Check the 'Show article summary' option then click OK.
Thunderbird will try to verify the feed. If you get an error, check the URL is correct.
