We take security very seriously. Much more so than many other 'secure' sites.
Bionic Tonic Security

McAfee Secure
As of October 2008 Bionic Tonic is the ONLY UK sex toys online shop that uses McAfee Secure (formerly known as Hacker Safe). Every day they check our server, probing for weaknesses.
Put simply, they try to break into your site, much as a hacker would, using advanced hacking techniques. If they fail, the site gets certified as McAfee Secure and they try again the next day!

Secured Socket Layer
We use Secured Socket Layer SSL protection during transmission of all personal details.
SSL is a protocol that transmits communications over the Internet in an encrypted form. SSL ensures that the information is sent, unchanged, only to the server you intended to send it to.
SSL causes the address in the Address Bar on your browser to commence with https rather than just http Also a padlock or key icon will appear on the browser's Status Bar (bottom right corner of window).
You can check this yourself:
Look at the Address Bar (top left corner of window), notice that the address starts with https. All browsers regardless of type will show https.
Look at the Status Bar (bottom right corner of window), this is Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6, it shows a small padlock. Other versions will show a similar padlock.
Look at the Status Bar (bottom right corner of window), this is Mozilla Firefox version 1.5, it shows a small padlock. Other versions will show a similar padlock.
Please Note: Other browsers may show a 'Key' image in the Status Bar.
WARNING: If you find a site that requires you to enter a User Name or Password that does not correctly employ SSL. Do not use it, regardless of what they say on the site it is NOT SECURE.
Payment Security
Your credit/debit card details are NOT held on our server.
All your payment details are encrypted using SSL in the browser before being sent to Protx, our secure payment provider using https.
The financial transaction is processed securely by Protx in real-time and we are notified of the outcome, either Ok or refused.
Account Security
Bionic Tonic Login page, the New Account Wizard pages, the Forgotten Password page and all the pages in the My Details section are Secure. That is, they use the SSL.
Password Security
Many people using the internet use one password for many sites. This can be a security risk.
But NOT with us. Although we do not recommend it.
Your password is one-way encrypted in our database. That means that it cannot be un-encrypted, no one can ever see what it is.
When you enter your password on the Bionic Tonic login page, it is encrypted and then compared to your encrypted password held in our database. If the two encrypted results match, you get logged in.
This is why, if you have forgotten your password, we have to send you a new one as even we cannot see your encrypted password.
